At this time no. It's not that we don't enjoy meeting and seeing our customers, it's that we're a food manufacturing facility. From a health-safety standpoint we limit the number of people that enter our facility.
Yes. Go to https://ticoscoffee.com/organic-coffee to purchase our organic line of coffees.
When selecting our coffees, we choose those that have great versatility across many brewing methods, so the right method often comes down to personal preference.
Yes! Our Decaf La Selva is water processed and is a versatile coffee that works well in both espresso and filter preparations.
Ideally, we recommend using coffee within 20 days after it is roasted (printed on every one of our bags). The distinct and complex flavors that characterize great coffees will fade over time.
We recommend storing coffee in a cool, dry place, away from heat and light, in its original packaging, or an airtight container.
The levels of moisture present in the refrigerator and freezer can greatly accelerate flavor loss. We don't recommend storing beans in the refrigerator and recommend storage in the freezer long, uninterrupted periods.
We place a great amount of emphasis on quality and sustainability, both from an environmental and economic standpoint.
While we usually have some Fair Trade certified coffees in stock, many coffee producers decide it’s in their best financial interest to channel their resources toward continued advances in quality and sustainability instead of the expensive and sometimes complicated process of certification. We like to factor a producer’s efforts toward greater quality as well as environmental and economic responsibility into our purchasing decisions, regardless of their certification status.

General
"Tico(a)" is a self appointed slang term Costaricans chose for themselves. In our case, my father was a tico and our family lived in Costa Rica for many years. Bert, the company's founder, attended grade school and high school in Costa Rica and has many friends and family still living there.
...and for one of our favorite definitions from urbandictionary.com
"The Embodiment of latin flavor and zest for life. A "Tico" is easily the most amazing person you will ever have the astounding pleasure of meeting. They have a very care free outlook on life guided by the "Pura Vida" saying. A tico knows good food, good women, and most of all good drink. The perfect example is their local beer "Imperial". Tico's can party, they are smart, they are charming and funny. All around damn near perfect."
